Water District

Description:

The Hartwick Town Board also serves in the capacity of the Board of Water Commissioners and meets every other month at the Town Hall to discuss water supply issues.  The water supply currently serves the hamlet of Hartwick - including approximately 250 customers.

 

New water mains, household services, and meters have been installed.

 

Responsibilities:

Water Service Problems:  Any problems with water service should be directed to the Highway Superintendent at 293-8889.  

 

Water Quality Problems:  Grant Ward serves as our Water Supply Administrator, checking and testing the water monthly for quality and maintaining the wells and pumps.

Programs/Activities:

Flushing of the fire hydrants is completed annually and public notice is provided in the Daily Star prior to the hydrant flushing.

 

Annual water rent includes a Debt Service charge of $390 per year ($97.50 per quarter). Water Use fees are currently set at $100 per year ($25 per quarter.)
